So how did Singapore's first topless car wash go down in the end for me? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any pictures myself. However, I was able to get my hands on a slew of shots thanks to Rick Lee Photography so here we go! After I arrived at the event held in the Dempsey Hill parking lot, I was starting to having some reservations about "doing my part" for charity in front of so many people. The water polo boys, Manhunt hunks, and 91.3 FM DJs were already all stripped down and scrubbing away. Soon thereafter, Rod Monteiro from 91.3 FM introduced me to the spectators and it was time to get me in the mix...
Even though you know going into one of these events that you plan to "go all the way" (or literally halfway), you still have last-minute reservations...
...But soon, the auction was on, and Rod was working the crowd with a starting bid of about ten Singapore dollars to get my shirt off our charity cause...
And as the bids starting getting higher and higher, my singlet felt lighter and lighter Once the highest bid had topped over $500, my shirt and I were literally going over my head...
And once the highest bid reached one thousand Singapore dollars, it was time to take it off!
When Rod asked how I felt about getting sold off like a piece of meat for a thousand bucks, I told him that it's the least I can do in the fight against breast cancer...
Soon thereafter, it was time to get down n' dirty and wash some cars...
I took a quick break to take a picture with the person with the winning bid of $1,000, Mr. Chrissy Tan, and one of her friends...
She's actually a cancer patient in remission and said she wanted to support the foundation as she has a friend with breast cancer who is currently in intensive care. I think she had a good time washing me wash down her wheels...
After looking around and seeing the groups of guys washing together...
I figured it'd be a lot faster (and easier) if I joined them!
And there you have it...Singapore's first ever "Topless" car wash. I had a great time doing "my part" for charity and hope you enjoyed the pics too!
