From San Diego to San Francisco

As always, it's been busy being back in Los Angeles, especially when I'm trying to catch up with friends and meeting people from the industry.  Of course, I still made sure I had time to make sure the Li'l Man could push his own little shopping cart with a funky new do at the supermarket...

BTW...that white box in his cart is a case of Samuel Adams Boston Lager  Once I got over the jet lag, it was time to start exploring this state of California once again so we cruised on down to Carlsbad to visit Legoland for the first time, which is great for little kids and big kids like me.  In fact, they even have these miniature lego cities such as this one of San Francisco...

Looks pretty real, huh??

Little did I know that I'd be actually up in the Bay Area a few days later...

It's been over five or six years since I last made it up to NorCal and even longer since I crossed the Bay Bridge so this trip was truly special.  After meeting up with my old modeling agency from twelve years ago, I just wanted to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city.  I think I totally forgot what a beautiful place this is to live, and here's something I saw that was kinda special...and kinda trippy.

As I was walking along the waterfront to the Ferry Terminal with a friend, we came across this   amorous blind and physically-handicapped couple...

It was really cool how they got on with their public displays of affection right in the mix of the crowd without a care in the world.  Sometimes just going with your gut and doing what you wanna do without anyone caring is the best way to go.  My friend and I were wondering whether they would have been so "adventurous" if they could actually see?  Regardless, more power to them!

And now on to the "meat" of this blog, where I was able to catch up with many old college friends from Berkeley...

From Left to Right...Derek Hawkins, Myron Scott, Steve Chen, me, Steve Hsieh and Greg Ko.  I haven't seen some of these guys since CAL for almost a decade and a half so I had a great time catching up with them.

We all went to the best new premium steakhouse in San Francisco called 5A5 on 244 Jackson near Battery, which is actually owned by Steve Chen, Albert Chen, John Chu, and a few others.

If you happen to be in the Bay Area and you wanna try the highest grade (known as A5) premium wagyu beef in the entire world, then you gotta come down to 5A5.  I tried some of it, and it's amazing how the meat just literally melts in your mouth.  Absolutely divine...and decadent!

And now, it's time to get ready for some more meetings back in SoCal.  Hopefully, things will start moving along here so I can spend more time back in the States to catch up with more "old" friends.
