Close friends of alivenotdead.com Philip Ng and Andy On celebrated the premiere of their new film "Once Upon A Time in Shanghai" early this week. The film, directed by Wong Ching-Po, produced by legendary HK filmmaker Wong Jing and choreographed by none other than Yuen Wo Ping, opened today in local cinemas (look for it where you live in theaters or on home video soon!). It's particularly special as it marks Philip's long awaited lead role in a Hong Kong action film!
Of course we were on hand for the premiere with our camera and we took a video of the festivities. As you can see from the recent blogs here, we get invited to a lot of these things (one or two a month at least), this time was unique in that a lot of other HK artists came out to despite not being related to the film or the production company, they came just to support Phil and Andy! Special guests included Rosanne Wong, Eric Kwok, Ankie Beilke, Chin Ka-Lok, Nicholas Tse and even the legendary Patrick Tse.
Check out our video here (FYI Nicholas crashes the party at about the 3:00 mark if you're just a Nic fanatic!) ;-)
