Chinese OPERA COSTUME! | 中國戲服!

In between Good morning and Good night! =)

It's getting so hot in Hong Kong! I'm blasting my air con but it still feels like I should be on a beach holding a glass of Pina Colada (I'm actually not a big fan of those! - but this certain occasion seems to call for one.)

I mentioned last week I took part in a special Chinese Fan Dance performance on Aug 8. I did a solo performance then was accompanied by other traditional chinese dancers at the " Legend Group Anniversary Cantonese Opera Variety show ."   It was crazy fun. The show was taken place at one of the oldest theatre in Hong Kong, North Point. It's the only one that is left in Hong Kong for this type of Chinese Opera performance. Therefore quite famous amoungst the Chinese Opera fans. They also managed to re-do the seating from it's original wooden seating to a more modern plush type seating instead. I was estatic to see that it pretty much kept everything else in it's original condition...as I love antiques and old architecture. I was glad to see that a bit of the chinese theater heritage was maintained.| 早上好/晚上好! =)

香港現在好熱!已經開足冷氣，但我還是想如果現在能在沙灘上喝著鳳梨園就好了（事實上我並不熱衷於此!-但這場景在呼喚我）。

上周跟大家說了我要在8月8日表演特別的中國扇子舞。這是“聯想集團周年紀念廣東戲曲演出”，我表演了一段獨舞，由傳統中國舞蹈隊伴舞，真的很有意思。我們在香港北角最古老的戲院演出，這裏也是香港碩果僅存的演出中國戲曲的戲院了，在戲迷中非常有名。他們還特地去定做絨布椅子，換掉了原有的木椅。看到這個劇院的物件都很好地保持了原樣，很興奮…我喜歡古物和老建築。很高興看到一些中國劇院仍保持著老傳統。

The story of my performance was quite interesting. It's about a princess in a palace who spends her leisure time chasing & catching butterflies. She finally catches it and in this photo is letting it go...giving its freedom back. The accompany dancers serves the roles of her "chaperones" who take care and watch over her. | 我演出的故事很有趣，是講一位宮廷公主的閑暇時間一直都在追逐和抓蝴蝶。終於她抓住了蝴蝶，但在這幕中她放走了它…給它自由。旁邊的伴舞是她的丫鬟，負責照顧她。 | 我演出的故事很有趣，是讲一位宫廷公主的闲暇时间一直都在追逐和抓蝴蝶。终于她抓住了蝴蝶，但在这幕中她放走了它…给它自由。旁边的伴舞是她的丫鬟，负责照顾她。

More photos will be updated in my album section...too many to load on my blog! Overall it was a successful night. We cheorographed & rehearsed the dance in a short time span and received positive feedback. I got home at 4 am after the late night celebrations and thankfully was able to sleep until early afternoon the next day before work!Stay Tuned... and keep smiling ALL! | 我會更新相冊的…太多東西要放到blog來!總之是個成功的夜晚。我們在短短幾天時間裏編舞和排練，獲得了好評。在徹夜慶祝到淩晨4點之後，還好第二天可以睡到下午再去工作!
