These pictures are from the dinner I had on Thanksgiving. I flew up to Tokyo that afternoon and called up my friends who were also in town. I met up with some of them at a fancy pants Tepanyaki place that they were going to. It apparently is quite famous in Tokyo.
I haven't actually been to Tokyo in over a year and a half, so it was good to be back. I dropped off my stuff and made my way to the restaurant by the wonderfully confusing Tokyo Subway... where a 5 minute cab ride becomes a 40 minute mini-marathon!
At first We didn't even realize that it was thanksgiving Thursday (I've been living outside of the US for the past 3 years, so its been off my radar as a holiday for quite a while).
One thing I was thankful for was that I wouldn't have to be paying for this dinner! wow it was fancy! :-P
Yikes. I felt a little uneasy about their seafood preparation methods... not exactly humane, but i guess there isn't really a humane way to kill a shrimp anyway. :-(
I only ate the shrimp and gladly passed along the rest of the seafood to my dining partners.
The one thing i was looking forward to, the steak, REALLY delicious. orgasm inducing for some at the table apparently...
Look at how jaded Antonio is...
Delicious! I'll have to take this opportunity to express another 'Gochisosama deshita!' to my Thanksgiving Dinner host!
