Shanghai 1 - Diesel x Adidas Shanghai Event

In the Mainland for the second weekend in a row.   Pat and I took a last minute trip up.  He has some meetings and since I missed the Racks Shanghai opening last month, I figured I shouldn't pass up another one.  今出張為に上海に居る、先月のRacksイベント参加できませんから、この週末Pat君と行って居る。Maglev電車で空港から乗った：

I convinced Pat to take the maglev train... it wasn't faster than taking a taxi from the airport because it took us forever to get a taxi at the maglev station... but its still cool to go like 200+ mph for the heck of it.

Turns out tonight our friends at Diesel and Adidas are doing a PR event for their new collaboration products...  you'll remember we went to a cool event by the same guys in HK last month.  This one was a bit different, definitely a lot bigger, and also a lot of fun. 

今週末上海で色々面白いイベントが有る。金曜日晩Diesel＋Adidasパーティーが有った。面白かった！僕の写真見て！今中国にチーベトでもが有るんが、Youtubeできませんのに、今ビデオできません！待て下さい！

the location of the event was very unique... its some newly renovated place called 'shanghai 1933', which apparently used to be a slaughter house and has recently been renovated and turned into an exhibition and retail space...  ( read some stuff about it here).

One key feature of this exhibition space is the glass floor:

its four stories down to the ground level..  at first when we got there, the security wasn't allowing people onto the glass...  but that was just temporary...　ここでグラスフロールが有る。怖い？４階上です。。。

When the lights were low, I did a long exposure to try to show the scary view below your feet.

then the 'show' started...

I didn't know Adidas had a mascot... apparently they have two!

they had a celebrity guest DJ.  Steve Aoki:

of course wearing the Adidas... 　このDJ有名です、青木Steveです。。。

then the fashion show started on the catwalk... モデルのファシーンショウが在った：

i decided to stay up on the balcony to get a better view...

This girl is a model from Taiwan... one of the most beautiful model I've ever seen...

is it cold in here or is it just me? 

it wasn't just beautiful girls out there.  they had a few Zoolander type male models and a celebrity guest model too:

Mr. Sam Lee... definitely one of the livelier models. :-P

actually the show was rather short, each model only came out one time...    which kind of sucked cause i didn't get good pictures of all of them... including Amada S. and our good friend Miss Ana R.　他の知っているのモデルも居ました。でもモデル散歩の写真を撮ったの機会ない。。。残念！

I think seeing me in Shanghai kind of threw him off a bit...   but he was cool.

Actually the 'big' guest model was Devon Aoki... who I just learned today is the sister of Steve Aoki (and daughter of Rocky Aoki... the founder of Benihanas)...  they were hanging out in the booth for a bit:

apparently they're only half brother-sister, but apparently Mr. Rocky Aoki has very strong features, cause they look really similar... 青木Steveの半分Sisterは青木Devon、知っている？有名なモデルでした、今Hollywoodのアクトレスーになりました。彼たちのお父さんはローキー青木、紅花レストランのOwnerだ。

he has his name written on his computer, in case you forget what his name is. :-P

eventually we ended up back upstairs in the VIP section (Thanks to jason and his hook-ups!):

they had some exhibitions and info stations set up... and a few artsy pieces:

later on some VIPs showed up... it didn't take me long to figure out who they were:

パーティー時、有名なゲーストが来た。Maroon5知っている？明日上海でコンサットが有るんが、居る。。。

apparently Maroon 5 is doing a show here in Shanghai tomorrow night, so they got them to show up.... 

I didn't get a good picture of anyone except for this one member when he was clowning around w/ someones' hat:

people stayed hanging around, talking and eating the hor'dourves for quite a while... good party! 晩いまで人が居た。。。

last but not least, a few more familiar faces... in the center AnD artist Faith He and on the right, Mr. Shanghai himself,  Min Yoo!

a lot of fun,  tomorrow should be more of the same.  but my camera battery is almost dead and i forgot to bring my charger. i gotta figure out if i can recharge it during the day...
