Last Thursday Swang and I took the boat over to Macau for a meeting:
the Google Maps app on the iPhone kicks ass! :-D
we took the brand new shuttle bus to the brand new 'City of Dreams' casino. The bus was so new it still had 'new car smell'... and it includes disco lights!
We had our meeting in the old Crown Macau hotel's 38th floor. They have recently changed the name to Alteria or something like that. But the view is still pretty impressive. Thats the Macau peninsula across the way, with Zhuhai, China in the background.
After the work was finished my friend Achanmin picked us up and we got lunch at the City of Dreams...
the new City of Dreams Casino, which is a combination of the Crown Macau Casino and the Hard Rock Hotel Casino.
In the front entry hall they have a pair of giant video screens that have water cascading down the front. Looks like a giant aquarium
Except the mermaids are just TV projections...
One of the more elaborate designs in a lobby somewhere. Actually I didn't like the layout of the building that much. maybe its just because its not finished yet, but it seems a bit confusing and strangely laid out (empty corners, etc)
They had several 'super cars' on display in the casino. normally you can't take photos inside the casino, but in this case they make an exception. note the big yellow foot prints on the ground. And yes that is a Ferrari Enzo.
and the corresponding spot on the floor (i'm in violation by taking this pic from outside the circle I suppose).
Note: wide angle lenses not allowed! :-P
I did sneak a picture of some of the memorabilia they had on display at the Hard Rock casino... it was mostly typical stuff (Motley Crew guitars, etc).
Boa's shoes... she to be taller than I expected.
On the way to the Hard Rock Hotel's lobby, they have this wall decoration.... i had to take this pic w/o a flash to get the proper shape.
Actually the whole thing is made up of drum sticks of different lengths. kind of cool.
Achamin wanted to check out the hotels spa facilities, so we did a bit of exploring and got a bit of an unintended tour of the swimming facilities from the staff there.
Pretty nice, huh? this is the Hard Rock side, with a view of the Venetian and Four Seasons.
This is a completely separate but equally nice pool on the Crown Macau side.
After that it was back to the OG ferry terminal for my boat back.... total time in Macau was about 6 hours. :-P
