· Just got back from the Caribbean.
We shot 3 fight scenes over there and the news was actually interested in talking to the production. I thought it was strange because it was low budget film but I then learned that not much happens over there. Dozens of kids and natives would gather to watch us film. It was actually kinda scary at first because it looked like we were going to be lynched.
So yeah the cast and crew was interviewed on national Domincan Republic TV and it was cool. I was just glad that the news station had great air conditioning. It was humid and gross over there. I just wanted to sneak into the air vent and sleep there forever.
Other things I learned:
1. Dry humor does not translate well into Spanish.
2. They call Chinese chinos over there but in America we call Mexicans chino.
3. Playing ninja in the sweltering heat is blistering fun.
4. Rolling down the side of a mountain can be painful. It can be especially painful when rolling down a mountain wasn't part of the scrīpt.
More:
5. I lost 5 lbs. so I'm looking for buffet partners J you know you want to.
6. Fight scenes were good but I'm unsure about the editors capabilities L . (Not just any editor can edit fight scenes.)
7. I made some really good friends for life. J
8. I enjoyed listening to Sting (must be the heat) J
9. I LOVE AMERICA!!! now I can sit and wait for residual checks yay!!!
War Machine production will continue to shoot until Sept. 25 th. I'm guessing the dvd will be out in beginning 2008.
Other things in General
10. Everlast money isn't in yet but looking at 7 million budget now.
11. Slums 13 is in pre-production. Casting for miscellaneous roles if anyone is interested go here http://www.myspace.com/slums13auditions . Yo I just spoke to the director and he says there's already 500 people in line for auditions. People are coming from as far as France. The movie is scheduled to shoot in Dec. 2007.
Thanks for the support!
