I can remember getting a collected issue of Battle Chasers by Joe Madueria back in my school days. Steve and I would look at the back pages where it would have some of Joe MAD's initial and warmup sketches. Back then we couldn't even sketch a final image that looked as good as his warmups... I remember Steve saying to me
'That's how good I wanna be- to do warmup sketches that look like that' [or something along those lines].
It's been a long time coming but I have finally had the time to do a few warm up sketches. It has given me perspective over what my work was and is like now. Drawing is something that I hold truly dear to my heart and I am so glad to have the skill I do. Don't get me wrong I have a long, long way to go but I was quite pleased with the out come.
Here's to Joe MAD & to Steve.
