Distractions and Clients - Decadance at M1NT

I really enjoyed this making this flyer. Not because of the end product, but because I learnt how to make skin look more organic. The past images have been very vector based and the shading is sharp and apparent, whereas here apart from the lips, eyes and general outline of the main shapes, the texture of the shading on Sarah's body and hair [yes, she is a real person] look so much more real. I was really glad to learn all this not only because I have never used this style before, but everything was acheived on illustrator [except the purple background].

To be honest I really want to start getting back to my hand drawn stuff. I will be putting up a whole new set of stuff as soon as I have finalized the images with the clients. I'm trying to get time for my tutorials and sketching but I just keep getting distracted here and there. Freelancing is a bitch too. I think I'm going to charge people for every change they call me up for and make... Yea that'll go down well... Clients can be a real nightmare sometimes. You could have 5-6 jobs on the go and they think they own you. That's one of many things I have learnt through freelancing full time. It has its strengths, but you end up working your ass off, and still the end image may not be to how you like. It's good to understand how it works though.

And don't get screwed over by major companies that don't pay you for jobs that they said they would do.
