On a lonely end of 6th Street just shy of Avenue A sits a seemingly sleepy and unassuming little bar. Notable neither for its dilapidated facade or its drab and dreary decor. Maybe it’s that the jukebox invariably plays at just the right level – loud enough to keep the room alive, but not so loud as to drown out conversation. Or maybe it’s the dim and hazy lighting under which everyone always seems to look so many times better than they will tomorrow morning. Whatever the cause may be, the Cherry Tavern seems to reside in a karmic grace which somehow persuades people to break free of their tightly bound social circles and open themselves up to the possibilities of the night. In Taipei, you can't really find places like that. A place you can go and just hang out with friends. A non-pretentious place. There's just so much I miss about NY. The streets, the shops, restaurants, memories, friends..I miss Godiva's chocolate dipped strawberries. YUM! We have Godiva in Taipei as well but somehow the strawberries seems smaller..Another of my favorite places in New York! Toys'R'Us!! Barbieess!Breakfast!! Breakfast for me is usually; nothing. Unless I'm traveling. If I'm back in Singapore, nasi lemak and otah otah is a MUST!! Everrryday!! Haha..A friend sent over more strawberries & champagne. I'm not really a strawberry fan: unless dipped in Godiva chocolate :P Hmmm..I'm feeling restless, think it's time for another vacation!
