My favorite things: HK trams (叮叮), soy beans, dark room (埋頭苦幹), film sets, things that make you sweat(流汗不止),dreams, Bali Shag (戒不了),gummi, surrounded by trees,
I grew up in the Eastern District on Hong Kong Island. Some of my favourite childhood memories include hiking up the Quarry Bay hills with Mom, and swimming in Taikoo reservoir with Dad and my little tortoise.
After living in the U.S. for a few years, I devised the cheapest way to travel the world, and indeed spent a couple of years country-hopping. Some of my favourite places include South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, the city of Montreal, Blue Ridge Parkway and Gui Yang in China. I continue to take trips to some place new every year.
During my journeys I often spent extensive amount of time living and working in local communities, doing things like research, visiting school sites, volunteering, and collecting stories.
I've been doing fine art photography since 1998. I work primarily with color film and I like to print them myself.
I have exhibited in San Francisco area and this year, after living in the U.S. for 10 years, I am relocating to Beijing, to seek opportunities to pursue my art.
I would also like to find other people to collaborate with on film projects. Film making, to me, is a lifelong endeavor. I consider film the ultimate art form in the two dimensional world. I am forever in awe by the magic that it creates.
Hopefully I'll meet people on this side of the world with the same passion and vision.
