Dream Brother is about a troubled young Filipina American girl fighting daily for her dignity and happiness against bullying, domestic abuse, and a dangerously consuming fantasy.
Breakdowns:
[Alex] Filipino / Asian Pacific Islander, Male, age 40-60. Owner of a successful restaurant. Outwardly decent but comfortable with lying and using people if he considered harmless. Speak Tagalog a Plus. Must be comfortable portraying a Child Molester. (No Nudity or Explicit Scenes) Lead.
[Lola] Filipina / Asian Pacific Islander, Female, age 60s – 80s. Loving, batty grandmother, grew up wealthy, now poor. Must speak Tagalog. Supporting.
[Ms. Gutierrez] Filipina / Asian Pacific Islander, Female, age late 30s-70s. Strong, smart, classy school teacher. Speak Tagalog a Plus. Supporting.
Rehearsing evenings and/or weekends 3 hours twice weekly Feb-Mar; shooting weekends (four weekends total per role) Mar-Jun.
