TKO Skatepark Progress, a photo by wZa HK on Flickr.
On one of the skate-blogs, I saw a comment left by a reader regarding one of the skateparks in Hong Kong…
“What? Hong Kong has how many skateparks? Hong Kong has 6 million people with so many skateparks; Shenzhen has 11 million people with only one skatepark…. why?”
Kind of made me chuckle…
Its good that the Hong Kong Govt. recognizes the need for proper purpose built skateparks in Hong Kong; you can already see how good our Hong Kong Skateboarders have progressed & I would like to think they honed their skills at one or more of our skateparks here.
Anyway, the latest Skatepark in Hong Kong is currently being built in an area called Tseung Kwan O. Its a bit closer to the city & its easy to get there via the MTR.
TKO has a very strong skateboarding community & it is the home of many amazing super good skateboarders. I am sure they are psyched & they would definitely progress really well once this park is open!
Again, this amazing park is being built by Convic, they always deliver the best & the parks always speak for themselves. Big thanks to Simon & Darren over at Convic.
For anyone of you reading this, if you need a skatepark in your country / town, Convic is the skateboard park company to look at.
