So many people were at the Orpheum Theatre hours before the Premiere, our group went a bit earlier to collect our tickets reserved for us, I was so psyched to get the ticket in hand!
I met so many Legends that night; some of them were my idols from when I was a boy!
Ray Barbee & Lance Mountain
Bumped into Pat Duffy as well! Pat was just in Guangzhou a few weeks before filming for Plan B !
Right next door to the theater, there is a restaurant where everyone was hanging out before the premiere, the street no of the restaurant is no. 852! Ha! Matt Milligan was the first one to holla at me! Awesome seeing this guy after so many years!
It was so awesome to meet these 2 guys, Lance Mountain & Tommy Guerrero, two skaters that influenced me much when I first started skating. So psyched on the Bones Brigade video! It was good to kick it with them right before another historic skate video premiere!
We headed into the theatre early to get good seats because it was free seating. Right behind me, was Rob Welsh! Fuk Yeah!!
Seated right next to me was Ando from FTC, everyone was psyched to watch the video!
As the countdown clock got closer to the time, the theater was filled with cheers & excitement. Almost everyone in the skate world was there, too many to name or take photos of. Then when the timer hit “0″, the crowd went crazy & the whole Girl Chocolate Team came on stage.
The video started right after the guys left the stage, I can’t really put the whole video here to describe how awesome it was.
It was SUPER awesome to watch it on the big screen in super hi def with amazing sound.
Also, being in the midst of the Skateboard world, you could feel the energy & love from the crowd as each skaters’ part unfolded before our eyes.
A few parts earned massive applause & standing ovations from the audience, if you watch the video, I’m sure you will know which parts.
If you have not watched it yet, get a copy of the special edition disk from 8five2shop, the discs are on sale today!
Anthony Claravall’s favorite from Pretty Sweet – Cory Kennedy!
After leaving the theater, Eric Koston introduced me to Christian Hosoi. It was an honor to meet him. Christian told me that he is ethnically Chinese & he would love to visit Hong Kong & China. I do hope he does come to visit soon!
Theotis at the Premiere, holla out to everyone in China!
There were too many big names to mention here or take photos of. But as I was leaving, I bumped into these LEGENDS in the car park? Do you know them?
Big Thanks again to Anthony Claravall for looking out for me for this premiere & Chico Brenes for inviting me. Congratulations to the whole Girl Chocolate Crew for an amazing video which no doubt is a milestone in skateboard history. I am happy & honored to have experienced this.
