Follow up to my quick post about the camera yesterday, I was playing around with some of the functions & testing them out, & I must say that I was quite impressed with what this camera can do…. first of all, the in-camera Panorama function; Sony has implemented a good way to shoot panoramas by just panning your camera & the camera does the rest, here are a couple of shots to demonstrate:
This is a pano shot using the standard mode. The Hi-res mode requires you to hold the camera vertically & pan; here are a couple of shots using Hi res mode:
Not bad at all; click on the pics to go to my flickr stream & view the original size, the quality is quite ok for this level of camera, if you look closely, the stitching isn’t perfect, but hey… this is all processed in-camera & done instantly.
Then I played around with the zoom, there was this guy walking on the roof of the building in the picture above, so I zoomed in:
Then I shot the sports ground in the background, some kids were running on the track:
Check out the 100% crop from the above photo:
Finally, I tried the in-camera HDR function, shot a building with bright sunlight
I shot the above pics with the in-camera GPS ON, so if you click on the pics & view these pics on my Flickr page, you can see the location on the map.
I still have not fully tested the HD video on this camera, but so far, the video looks amazing. Highly recommended mini-travel camera for everything!
