Japanese Pro Skaters Lui Araki & Nao are in town & Lui hooked me up with his latest skate video “ Collective Improvisation“. I’ve known Lui since 2000 or 2001, & he is one of the most stylish & original street skaters I know.
Nowadays, rarely do skateboard videos make me want to go out & skate, after all these years of watching skate videos & seeing all the top pros doing the craziest stuff, I’ve become a bit jaded & one tends to have high expectations about any skate video that comes out.
But watching this video made be want to go skate & hit the spots around where I live. These skaters bring out the realness in ’street skating’;-
skating everything & anything in the urban street environment.
Each skater in this video has their own unique style, something which I find refreshing after seeing so many videos with skaters that are trying to be like some other pro skater.
The cinematography is also superb, props to the filmers who were going as fast as the skaters were & they must have been SUPER CLOSE to the skaters for many of the shots.
There’s footage from various cities in Japan as well as China & Hong Kong.
Definitely a video worth checking out & this one for keeps, for sure!
