The Hunting Party 《狩獵聚會》2 thumbs down

Plot: spoiler The movie follows a young journalist (Eisenberg), a seasoned cameraman (Howard), and a discredited journalist (Gere) who embark on an unauthorized mission to find the "No. 1 war criminal from the Bosnian conflict" - Radoslav Bogdanović a.k.a. The Fox. They find themselves in serious jeopardy when they are mistaken as a CIA hit squad and their target decides to come after them.

Review: The story is very much based on an article written by american journalist Scott Anderson, published in 2000 on Esquire magazine. The movie introduction is a tag line, stating 'only the most ridiculous parts of the story are true'. The ideal of the story is innovative and adventurous in all sorts of way, however it isso poorly executed, its like a can-be-good piece of material flushed out to the point of no return. The dialog tries too hard to impress, some how long-winded and without action to back up, this critic's review from Rotten Tomatoes just sums it up- ' Lacking any dramatic credibility or historical authenticity, Shepard's thriller about the Bosnian wars is a silly, presposterous fantasy that can't decide whether it's about journalism, politics, male camaraderie, or coming-of-age.'   影評：故事改編自美國記者Scott Anderson於2000年發布在Esquire雜誌上的一篇文章。電影介紹是一句歇後語，說”這故事中最荒謬的部分才是真的”。故事的構思創意而驚險，但沒拍好，象一塊很好的原材料被糟蹋掉了。為了標新立異，對話故意弄得艱澀難懂，但喋喋不休，沒有劇情支持。這句摘自Rotten Tomatoes的批評做了總結– “缺乏戲劇可信度和歷史真實性，Shepard鏡頭下可怖的Bosnian戰爭是場愚蠢、荒謬的白日夢，不知道講的是新聞業、政治、男同性愛還是成年”。非常正確。

Plot: spoiler from Rotten TomatoesJane is idealistic, romantic and completely selfless, a perennial bridesmaid whose own happy ending is nowhere in sight. But when younger sister Tess captures the heart of Jane's boss -- with whom she is secretly in love, Jane begins to reexamine her always-a-bridesmaid lifestyle.

Review: Yet another formulated romantic chickflick. In order to gain sympathy and acceptance for a series of outrageous wrong doing, the leading role possesses a selfless character, and typically transforms into a complete selfish and emotionally challenged, just to get into the white dress. The relations of the male and female is religiously unchanged since the invention of television: they fight and hate each other at first sight, then they reconcile and laugh for a bit, shortly after they fight again, hate each other's guts and some how realise how madly in love they are for the other, they have an elaborate reconciliation and ultimately surrender to marriage. Besides that, like any other chick flick, a make over montage is inevitable, only this time there are 27 dresses.Hopefully the goofy-shiny-teeth-grin of Marsden is doing the magic on the audience, otherwise it is just a solid two hours of hatred and jealousy over the irresponsible sexy(typical) sibling Tess. It is quite common for girls to slap ppl around just to unleash their anger over nothing, hopefully this happen only in the movies, expect to see some extent of this action. Despite all of the above, thanks to the terrific dialog, within the reasonable boundaries of cynicism and dry comedy, which gave life to the story. Overall entertaining, it could be a lot worse.

  劇情：摘自Rotten Tomatoes Jane是位充滿浪漫幻想、無私稱職的長期伴娘，現在屬於她自己的快樂結局總算要來了。但當妹妹Tess抓住了Jane老板的心-正是Jane偷偷愛慕的人，Jane開始重新審視她總是當伴娘的生活。   影評：另一部典型的浪漫輕喜劇。為了使自己所做的一連串誇張錯事得到同情和接受，趕緊披上婚紗，女主角從無私個性轉變為自私和不顧一切。自從電視機發明後，男女間的關系就從沒改變過：他們第一眼看到對方就互相討厭，少不了打鬥嘲笑，但在再次互鬥後不久，他們意識到多麽瘋狂的愛上了對方，最後投降，步入結婚禮堂。除此之外，象其他輕喜劇一樣，換裝蒙太奇不可或缺，但這次是27套伴娘服。希望詹姆斯•麥斯登的招牌閃亮露齒微笑能迷惑觀眾，否則這兩個小時的觀影體驗就只剩仇恨、嫉妒，還有不負責任的性感(典型)妹妹Tess了。經常可以看到女生煽身邊的人耳光以發泄無名怒火，希望只發生在電影中，期待能看到這個動作的更多劇情延伸。除了這些，還要感謝可怕的對話，玩世不恭和輕喜劇控制在合理範圍內，賦予了這個故事生命。總體來說挺有趣，不然會更差。
