Hey hey!
I have been super excited to talk about this. And I finally get to tell you about the latest event/project I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in.
As most of you probably know, the last few years I’ve been working with the New York Asian Film Festival on doing some tshirt designs and what evolved into doing some poster work for them as well.
This year we get started with the Old School Kung Fu Film Fest!
April 18-20 down at the Anthology Film Archives in New York on 2nd Street and 2nd Avenue. There is a Lau Kar-Leung tribute as well as a nice little art show that I had the honor/privilege of helping to set up/curate.
I was able to gather some great talent to give us their vision and reinterpretations of the featured movies by illustrating a new poster for them.
Larry Hama, Bernard Chang, Ken Knudtsen, John Jennings, Glenn Urieta, Jef Castro and Sooj Lee, and of course myself.
The above image is the official poster being used for the Film Festival. And there will be a limited signed and numbered run of these prints available at the festival for purchase. Just in case you didn’t know, I was the one that illustrated this particular piece so I am sooooooo honored/excited for this.
So if you’re in New York April 18-20 and love kung fu movies or just looking at great art, definitely come by The Anthology Film Archives.
The art show will be open to the public.
All art prints hanging at the Festival are measured at 13x19”.
You can see the schedule and purchase tickets for the Film Festival HERE.
You can read more about all the posters and artists involved in the show HERE.
And hopefully I’ll see you all there.
