i have been working on, among other things, the continuing projects for altered ego. you may remember the first two assignments. it has become a test of my skill-set and patience. i am learning to love the challenge.
here is part three and four:
part three is about journeys and routines. i chose to show the routes my character samuel goes through in an abstract visual, since up until that point it had all been representational. the three elements are journeys of the past, present and future paralleled with his journeys of the mind, heart and body. kinda hard to explain, but i thought i'd give a little bit of a context.
part four is about a childhood memory. we are asked to fill in a sheet of sentences with portions left blank, (basically worded leadingly to give a starting point for ideas). my character samuel, is a bit of an awkward guy around women and i chose to expose the backstory for this. this piece narrates a moment in samuel's childhood where his pubescent babysitter experiments sexually with him- she is represented by the lamb because she was innocent in her intent. samuel does not regard the time as painful, but almost as warming- he does not, however, remember much of it.
i'll keep it coming every few assignments or so. hope you guys like it.
