It was founded by Ho Wing Fong and his wife in 1946, and he is the disciple of wanton master Mak Woon Chi - the same guy whose children and relatives gave rise to all the different Mak’s in Hong Kong.
Ho Hung Kee was the 1st wonton-noodles restaurant to be awarded one Michelin star, and for 2 years in 2012 and 2013.
