I should be sleeping, but as usual I’m not one that is disciplined enough to keep a strict schedule when it comes to doing things on my own time. I’m a few days late telling everyone that we’re in the second half of the year now-not that it really needs to be pointed out. April was confusing. May was busy. June is here.
If anyone really knows me, they know i’m motivated and i constantly exert myself much more than i should, worry about problems i can’t control and always try to rush time that can only move at the same rate. Finally it all caught up with me and after more than two years of not getting sick, I had a high fever rocking my system out of this world.
Talk about my body putting me into check with reality. I’m trying to listen to it a tad more and so i’m slowing down a little bit. The meetings/castings are a little more infrequent but each one has a little more weight added each time – the kind of weight that I’ve been longing for ever since I decided to embark a career in this side of the world.
How do I feel about this second half? Happy and optimistic.
Work-I’ve met my targets for the first five months and even though i’ve been floating a little more than usual, i’m also busy with various projects and contracted obligations with companies in Malaysia. I was incredibly worried about my two month stint in Canada but that proved to be a fantastic move. I’m getting much busier in HK doing shoots every week for various things and networking with the right people always means hamsters are running.
Family- I’m excited to see a few of my family members next month including my beautiful nieces Keira and Erika (Happy Belated Ka). My mom has decided to sell our home in Vancouver which is a big friggin deal since we’ve spent more than 14 years there. We’re still waiting for my lil bro to finish uni and get on his own 2 feet, which i have no doubt he’ll be successful at. Then it’ll be all of us in four corners of the universe.
Heart- Never been happier.
Projections? Plans?
I took the first step of ironing out my financials and after a couple years of working i’m finally out of the red. I’m considering buying a car and is still worth considering even if i’m not in KL as much as I’d like to be. I have marked a few opportunities I intend on finishing out here before I decide to return to the land of free health care and tree huggers. I intend on making this year much better than the previous…I’ve got my KPIs marking my progress along with a Plan B if my Plan A doesn’t go according to plan. (Although it seems like Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major playing in the background hints that I should just elope.)
