Mui Goes Green

I don’t know if I dressed in green for any particular reason, perhaps it was the lack of celebration during St. Patrick’s Day or the thought of the entire nation gathering together to promote a blackout this weekend for The Earth Hour. (Earth Hour is on March 28th @ 8:30pm)

I came out to party with my Vancity girl in town for the weekend. We started off our night at Aristo Lounge which was a great night! Packed with party peeps and a lot of out-of-towners for Sunburst. On Saturday, I made another pilgrimage to Batu Caves with my tourist friends before rushing off to grab another dude arriving to town. I was getting dunked for Charity and what better way than to sport my new Nike Dunks in this “top-of-the-mornin-to-ya” green hue. A huge fan of their sneakers and now I think they’ve got me feeding a sneaker freak demon inside. Of course, Dunks before dunk, I sported this sports bra bandeau which I figured wouldn’t be as outlandish for the Malaysian public.

It definitely felt like a scene of a movie shot in a Thai city screaming - 10 dolla 10 dolla…. but of course it was all in good fun and the money went to Rumah Kids. N.E.R.D. was rocking and had an amazing set of cool new songs including their latest for the Malaysian public - “Popcorn”. It’s such a pity that our government is so wishy-washy on our rules when foreign talent comes to perform. Countless acts like Beyonce and Rihanna deal with crap about our censorship laws. I hope N.E.R.D and Korn’s experience here will not deter other acts from performing here. The Malaysian public and the music scenesters here are craving for more and more music acts to make a stop down here, and from what I saw at Sunburst, they’re willing to pay the top ringgit for it too! We’ll see what happens next year!

I got a hair event and an interview this Thursday for Shu Uemura. Super excited!
