(I may not have looked that great, but I had a killer manicure earlier that day!)
If some of you can remember, I was doing a little trekking around Langkawi and KK for Malaysia.com.
Basically, it was just Bruce & Ian, 2 Canadians forced to go to Malaysia for a couple weeks to get footage for their website. I joined them along on their trip as a tourguide (I know, u can roll your eyes, I can still barely speak Malay) to take them to all of the wonders of Malaysia!
Keep in mind that they were on a budget and by the end of it, we weren’t sure what day we were on because it was always go-go-go. All these videos were shot ourselves, and none of us have formal training whatsoever, so bear with it! I’m not exactly the prettiest sight, but I do enjoy the expressions that can be seen on my face! If you are considering coming to Malaysia, this is a great website to check out, simply because you can learn about our cuisine and culture in just minutes!
My favourite videos would have to be: DURIAN and MANGOSTEEN.
According to Bruce on his blog, he wrote:
Sarah bought and cracked open one of the small, vaguely pomegranate-like purple fruits. Under a thick, fibrous rind full of staining purple juice was a tiny white bulb. I popped one of its segments into my mouth and understood immediately why the durian and mangosteen go hand in hand. After the pummeling I’d been given by the durian, the mangosteen’s refreshing sweetness felt like a soothing wave washing away all of the confusion. If eating the durian had been akin to being mauled by a bear, then eating the mangosteen was an action-packed airlift out of the bear-infested jungle in a helicopter piloted by Leelee Sobieski. But I digress.
