(Tony Yusof, Akma, Dawn Jeremiah and I at FRIM)
I had the opportunity to cover the launch of Ipanema Gisele Bundchen Seed Collection of Sandals at the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia, in Kepong. I know it’s a mouthful and it seems a little far, but working in this industry and also being considered as Media, it is always an experience venturing out to new venues and places for launches and gambits.
FRIM -abbreviated, is a beautiful research centre where you can truly take a breath of fresh air. With tall trees and the sounds of birds chirping in the morning, I arrived fairly early to the event and took a small stroll around. There is a small religious school located inside and other arbour research areas. There were a few couples in their wedding gowns for their wedding pictures. It resembles Stanley Park in Vancouver when you’re first walking through and you don’t feel like you’re in Malaysia at all.
It was rather hot but being in a natural environment always feels nice, whether the heat is humid or dry. Also invited were guests like Jay Menon, Belinda Chee, and Dawn Jeremiah. Press had some fun taking pictures and we were just trying to keep ourselves entertained catching up with each other. We potted a periwinkle plant and managd to take one back! Woot!
Now I have my own little flower - who i’ve named “Late Bloomer”.
