A Long Easter Weekend

I definitely didn’t do much Easter Egg hunting out here in HK but I had a great weekend for sure!

I managed to celebrate another April birthday this weekend as my gf Sammy flew into town.  I think one of the best parts about being in HK is the opportunity to see my friends from Vancouver and Toronto. I’ve tried to take advantage to meet up my old high school friends and of course university mates as well!

I’m not gonna hide that I’ve been working the circuit here and starting from scratch as just another talent. Of course my time here is brief but I’m adamant about practicing what I preach. I put myself in new environments to challenge myself. I think Malaysia has been a fantastic training ground for myself as a host and even an actor (at times). It’s one thing to keep patting myself on my back for my own achievements and another for pushing myself beyond my comfort zones. But i’ll tell you its rather scary always packing up and living out of a suitcase from weeks on end…especially when you don’t know how to plan the next week or even the next month.

It’s Easter, and I’m reminded that I was baptised on Good Friday where I publically announced my Christian faith to my brothers and sisters over 8 years ago. It’s been a while since I attended a proper service, but the last one was good to remind me about the meaning of the Cross and the meaning of the death of Jesus Christ. I’m glad I jotted those sermon notes on my berry to keep me in check when I need to.  I do believe that God does have a bigger plan for me despite my own doings and sometimes secretly wish that His plan is also in line with mine so I can be even more proud of my own life.

I’m happy that I’m in HK right now, appreciating the long Easter Weekend because we are commemorating the death and ressurection of Christ. If I’m glad about anything this week or weekend, this is definitely one of them.
