A Dark Day for Malaysians

No one expected the year to start with not 1, not 2 but 3 churches burnt because of religious hatred.

As Malaysia prides on being multi-racial and religiously tolerant, only now will we see what happens when infidels decide to challenge the system. The question is, how will they be punished and made an example of, so that this doesn’t happen again. Oh Dear PM Najib, oh where is your 1Malaysia now?

The Malaysian twitterverse is out of control with the number of tweets and retweets from many celebrities and political leaders. The shame it has brought on us once again only makes us more upset that the cowards who have done this are so poorly educated that they believe they are being righteous about their acts.  How embarassing.

KJ who represents UMNO Youth says:

“If Muslims are responsible for this incident, they should be ashamed and remorseful because clearly Islam advises Muslims to respect other religious beliefs.

“Malaysia is a multiracial country. There will be arguments and misunderstandings over issues which touch on race and religion.

“What is important is the people should resolve any problems with maturity and respect for each other’s sensitivity,” he said in a statement.

Selangor PAS termed the arson attacks as cowardly acts.

“We view the news of the attacks on churches, including in Selangor, with sadness and regret. Such attacks have never happened in our country and they do not at all reflect our culture, tradition or the religious beliefs of Malaysians.

I am sorry to read about this, but I think you are doing a good thing in talking about it and posting, so that people will know. I hope they find the people responsible and bring peace. I'm not religious, but I don't think defacing or destroying religious institutions should ever be tolerated at all. Thank you again for making people aware.
