Between the Lines (Robynn & Kendy)Just a casual live jam version of our song. I guess when I wrote it I was kind of angered and lost and confused about what we were about to face in our music career, and I bit frustrated too... but I still wanted to fight. I still wanted to fight for what I believed in, and I wanted to charge forward alongside my partner, to all challenges ahead of us. I'm so glad that Pong Nan wrote us those "tough girl" lyrics in the Chinese version, about how we aren't just porcelain dolls "陶瓷娃娃", that we can take confident strides forward, that we aren't puppets. I have to honestly say that I love both versions very much. Now to those of you that follow my blog here, thank you, for accepting me for who I am, and us for who we are. Sometimes our lovely stylist, hair and make-up artists doll us up as beautiful beautiful girls.....and that is honestly just a highly beautified version of who we really are, and that's just one side of us. The other side of us get cranky because fake eyelashes won't ever stick right, and we just say "forget it" and tear them off. The other side of us enjoy indulging in food, sleep at inhumane hours because finishing up a song or a video is more important than not having dark circles the next day. The other side of me... specifically... suck at wearing heels. In fact, I walk like a penguin wearing them... and I would much rather not look like I'm trying to be a beautiful woman.... because once you're put in that category... man, there's so much more that we have to work on to fit in... when, in actuality we really don't have to. Hence, I do, truly truly admire and love our stylist, hair and makeup artists, because without them we would be a hot mess. In fact, even then I'm a hot mess. We would be at a fancy dinner after some press conference, sitting with important people at an important table, and food would randomly decide to fly out of my chopsticks and onto the floor and my partner would just crack up uncontrollably because it's such a CRM, a "Classic Robynn Moment".
