Finally got the video footage of the performance with Jake Shimabukuro, ukelele virtuoso.
Thank you alivenotdead for hooking me up with this event, and it was SUCH a huge honor, not only because he's an amazing musician, but also a wonderful human being, and it shines through in his music. I love how music brings very different people together. Obviously he's world famous, and I'm just a little youtuber... but he was so nice and chill, and so professional at the same time.
I'm so, so grateful.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lemypWfOixw This was my original song, "Someday".
For those of you who don't know, "Someday" is a little song I wrote for a 4-year-old child (back when he was 4...) with autism. I was once his therapist until he moved away from Hong Kong. He's made so much progress since we started, and we've really developed a relationship, and an emotional bond. He was a naughty one at times, but he's the brightest kid I have ever known, and he really knew how to make me laugh. I really miss him still. I'll always sing this song with him in mind, that no matter what life throws at you, I'll still be hopeful that it'll all work out in the end.
=)
Thank you Jake for bringing this song alive again.
