Music Publishing (Part 1)

Something about what I do...

well yes i work for a music publisher - Warner/Chappell Music (WCM).

My main duties are:

1. Take care of the existing writers

2. Find new writers

3. To inform my writers who needs what songs out there and ask them to come up with demos.

4. Pitch there demos to various labels and producers or artist

5. Pitch covers that I recieve from other countries like Korea, Japan, Scandanivia, UK, USA...

Basically be the bridge between record labels and song writers (of WCM), it's like an Agent + Market + Sales all in one.

Apart from taking care of writers, I also have to take care of Library Music, meaning those Stock Music or Can music that are signed under our company. I will need to provide suitable music to different shopping malls and/or office buildings periodically.
