Shaping the message – developing a marketing sense

Shaping the message – developing a marketing senseUpdate #6 posted 1 day ago (From Judy Li’s film project “Polluted” on www.kickstarter.com   Please follow her progress and learn more at

http://kck.st/h1r0LTShaping the message – developing a marketing senseAs China meets the world on the international playing field, there often is a culture clash. This happens in business and in art.The marketing culture in China has developed vastly since I arrived in Shanghai in 2003 but it is still not fully advanced by Western standards. When many Chinese firms look to go international, their ad campaigns tend to focus on facts rather than the idea that marketing is based on conveying a feeling or impression about the product. But Marketing is all about creating a brand feeling.Director, Judy Li started out with a narrative teaser trailer. It is the way you market a completed film. It would be the way to pitch INVESTORS in film, Distributors, Production companies, Producers, etc. It is clear that that is not the way to market crowd-sourced funding which mostly involves reaching out to the non-filmmaker community.Judy has been tirelessly studying successfully funded projects on the various crowdsourcing platforms and the precious advice from friends and film makers from around the globe, Judy realized she needed to make an interview-style trailer on kickstarter. Vimeo and youtube have their role now as a place to post the full narrative trailer. but the kickstarter main page is all about the appeal to the masses to get them involved in the process..We are happy to have you involved in the process. Thanks for following this production.
