Life is about balance... it's also about timing. If we lived life pursuing only our work then there will be a day when we will realise that we missed out on our life and the relationships that matter most. But if we focus only on relationships then the same will be true about all the missed career opportunities.
Make time to see the people you value the most, while you are pursuing your passions. Let them take the journey with you. The truth is that with the talent that you have has been given to you by God; as such it is not just your choice to go down that path, it is your destiny. To turn away from that would be a mistake. If they will not join you in that same journey, then they were not called to the same destiny.
