Prank calls and little dogs
I rushed this one. I sure did. Definitely the fastest one I’ve done out of all of the entries so far just to make my Wednesday deadline. I’d say the “BYE!” was pretty weaksauce. But overall, it’s a little more upbeat than previous entries, eh?
R.I.P. Snowball
When I was rehearsing for this the night before, I actually cried foreals… Sadly, I can’t say I had that connection again when taping this. Ahhh! But I KNOW I can do it! Just gotta keep practicing the craft :]
No more camp…
At first I wanted to try to do something a little fancier with a split screen, but then I realized that I was just making things more complicated for myself when something like this should be so simple. There was also a take which I thought a portion of the performance was better, but I’ve been trying NOT to edit these. Anyway, I’m getting better about limiting the number of takes! I only did 3 and I went with the first one My h...Read more
Exactly one year ago, I took the time to reflect on 2011, so to continue the tradition, here’s a little recap of 2012′s highlights for me~

My dear friend and very talented director, Rocky Jo, has been on a very purposeful mission ever since he came to LA~ and that is to be a truth teller of real love. In his next endeavor, he has teamed up with my other dear friends, The Jubilee Project, to create a short film that will be pitched to Hollywood studios with the purpose of reflecting love and hope to the masses. Check out his Indiegogo campaign:

I didn’t do 35 takes this time… but def needed to warm up a bit. The perfectionist in me would have kept doing it until I nailed the piece verbatim (which in this case, I did not), so I had to give myself a time limit. Plus after a handful of takes, I was just deep in my head and knew I had to stop. My acting teacher normally would ask, “What worked, what didn’t, and why?” For this piece, I’d say I had trouble beginning and as my teacher says, “the pitch is in the windup.” I’d say I was pretty phoney ...Read more
Another day at camp. The day I learned about vegetarianism…
Note to self: From now on, I seriously need to limit myself to no more than 3 takes and then just choose from those. Can you believe I did 35 takes of this??? Ugh. And I ended up picking the one that I was originally going to go with! Lol. Yes. I need to trust myself more.
As simple as this might seem, I had a hard time with this one. I committed so many acting no no’s take after take… from judging the character (myself!) to rushing through it like I wanted it to be over with to beating myself up. Perfectionism is something that holds me back as an actor (and just in general!) and it’s something I’m working on letting go of. “There is no perfect, only process” as my acting teacher would say!

So… I came up with the idea to do this over 6 months ago- thought it’d be a good monologue exercise while I was on a break from acting class. However, I kept putting it off until just the other day when some friends asked me whatever happened to the idea and why I wasn’t doing something with YouTube. At first, I responded, “ehh… it’s too much work.”
Then I remembered this quote that I’d heard several times from my acting teacher: “He who argues for his limitations gets to keep them.” And so I realized I was just making e...Read more
