Shanghai

It was very uplifting to see that during these economical craziness... its back to the basics...and people are being resourceful.. simple joys are in order - Spent quite a bit of time hanging with friends and seeing what they are up to.. and enjoying home cooked dinners and lots of mulled wine...not bad - Okay after freezing my butt off in Shanghai...for the whole time..i am glad i got a chance to visit a few exhibitions and see some culture. Shanghai is one of those cities that you can walk alot around and really enjoy the city. There is always something to be found around every corner.

here's a few bits and bobs from my trip

the creek arts center.. this print exhibition..

it is really great to see wood prints..sorry no fotos allowed..but alot of great local talent there.

the 1933 building.. old abbatoir that has been cleaned up and utilised for art and commercial studio space.. american apparel somehow got there.. haha

pretty empty right now.. but i am sure it will be biz by summer..

reminds me of a wet market.. but cleaner.

more architecture..

I had a chance to visit the Shanghai IFC building. One part is finished and the other is still in the works.

To be quite honest wasn't worth the 150RMB to get to the top to see a few floors unless u are totally into architecture...it's a beautiful very sleek building nicknamed "bottle opener" as it has a hole in the top

I had spent a few days running around in the neighborhood...but didn't look up....until...

IT IS REALLY TALL... we went up to the 100th floor which is above the "hole"

Hard to fit it all in up close... and needless to say i didn't...but hope you get the idea

after all of this .... we had an ad hoc makeshift christmas dinner....and this is all that was left...

it was turkey....all 10kgs of it...
