Creating Beautiful things, surrounded by talent

The design industry is full of serious talent.. but takes a few lucky ones to be able to express it well and get somewhere...or live the life of a poor starving artiste.

My day job is pretty corporate...hectic and corporate....different pace. I have been spoiled to have been working in the luxury world whereby there are many resources at your finger tips to create beautiful things that are desirable.

I am really lucky to be able to work with a bunch of really cool kids...they are amazing.. to be able to have a daily opportunity to work with and nurture them is incredible....i will post some of their work on this site later..asia has some quality talent.. which is why i also love this site so much...

It can be a daily struggle to stay alive to be creative and in turn to create.

My  workshop is to balance and feed my own heart and soul....My day to day inspirations are influenced by the culture that we see and live in. It can be something visual, touch or

sound....it's a feeling of constant exploration in life's journey. You meet many awesome people along the way.. who are so supportive of what you believe in.

I wanted to bring to your attention some of the day to day beauty that i am surrounded by. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. please remember that.

Here's a few of the items that i love

This organic wood clutch that you see - made from walnut and inspired by the natural curvature of pebbles. The design is sooo iconic .. i am in love with it .. and it was created by a special friend of mine locally in China...AMAZING...the love and passion that came with this piece cannot be mass produced. Each piece is hand made and it is really such a perfect piece.

My other love has been my move to Asia.. i am exploring my roots... sounds corny.. i was always feeling that a large part of me felt quite hollow... missing..but since moving out here... its been the easiest transistion..but i was always wondering why i was always drawn to the  textiles, dyeing, ceramics, typography...I have been looking for the balances between our traditional culture and the other western world that i have been raised in... both histories are really rich...and i like to mix it up ....fashion with graphics...that is yet another one of my loves......

I am currently obsessed with the Peony Prints... here's a glimpse of me at work...more to come later... brewing it....

There is a young cool design collective in China.. that i found a while ago called SHIRTFLAG..

They produced an icon which i really think is fab...great mix of typography... and irony...great mix of graphics and fashion with a sense of humor.

Finally.. the balance that i look for is also PEACE... this is beautiful. peace equals freedom from your own excess  baggage..This keeps the mind at ease. I look for inspiration in things that bring me peace.. my love of ceramics

More later...
