25 random things for Elle ....

I have been requested by Elle to do the 25 random thingies (facts, habits, whatever about urself) for this tag message that is moving around the site ... so, here's just the first 25 thoughts about myself that come into mind in the middle the nite .... hope it doesn't bore everyone ...

1.   I'm huge fan of Carebears .... Funshine (the yellow one) is my favorite..

2.   I recently watched the complete Season3 of Las Vegas in one day.

3.   By nature, I support "underdogs" ... I actually prefer Diet Pepsi (Max) to Coke (Zero) .... but my brand loyalty is in fact extremely fickle and price elastic when buying multi-packs from the supermarket ...

4.   I'm a long-suffering supporter of a football team called Ipswich Town, who use to be good, but are now languishing in the second tier of English football leagues ..

5.   I have two cats Montgomery (Monty) & Tiffani (Tiffi), who are currently not living with me ... i miss them lots!

6.   In the 80's, i thought the two best dressed men in the world were Don Johnson (as Sonny Crockett) and George Michael in his baggy Armani suits wearing his Ray Bans ...

7.   After finishing reading an Arnold Scharzenegger biography in the late 90's, and well before he became Governor of CA in 2003, i shared with a bunch of friends after a few bottles of wine, that i believed that one day Arnie would run for President of the United States ... they all thought i was out of my mind .... we'll see ;oP

8.   It still bugs me that it took me twice each to pass both my Automobile Driver's license as well as Motorbike license .... my best mate forced me to learn to ride bikes (to do something completely out of charcater) to help get over a bitter-ending 4 year relationship ... previously i had been totally "anti-motobikes" ... so dangerous!

9.   I am a Grade1 - LTA tennis coach .... qualified to teach juniors and beginners at Club level .... in my parent's home in the UK, my tennis trophies and plaques (mostly for Mixed Doubles) are still gaining dust in my old room ... haha

10.  My all-time favorite tennis players are: Ivan Lendl for his dour work ethic to improve himself, John McEnroe for his natural talent + tantrums & Pete Sampras for being the near "pure textbook" in almost all his strokes ...

11.   I love the "The Fighting Temeraire" by William Turner at the Tate Gallery in London

12.   In reality, my preference is to eat my steaks "medium-rare" ... but in Hong Kong most restaurants have a tendency to overcook them.... so, i've gotten use to ordering them 30% cooked ...

13.   My first car was a black Mini Cooper 1000cc (back in the 80's) & and first bike was a black Suzuki Bandit 400 (in 2004) ...

14.   Watching "Bambi" was the first movie in which i teared up at the cinema ... when Bambi's mom was killed ...

15.   To this date ... I have never taken any recreational drugs  whatsoever (beside alcohol, caffiene or nicotine)  ... guess it's prudish, but i'm actually rather proud of this!

16.   Besides checking my own starsign - Cancer in the newspaper, i still glance at the horoscopes for my "significant exes"  ... rather sad!

17.   Current Starbucks order is "Vanilla Hazelnut Latte - Venti with skimmed milk"

18.   I'm lazy when comes to prawns ("shrimp" as some of u Yanks call them) ... if they are cooked with the shells, i usually bite off the head, legs and tail and eat the whole prawn with the shell still on .... great calcium fix!

19.   Mama Mia was the movie I enjoyed watching the most in 2008 .... Abba's contribution to pop-music was probably more significant than the Beatles

20.   If Bill Clinton didn't screw-up with Monica Lewinsky and in turn lose some of the Democrats' votes back in the 2000 Election .... Al Gore would have been President and the world might be a much better place now .... oh lovely George W - thank you so much!!

21.   In my golfing heyday (early 20's), I was a 12 handicapper .... I once shot 74 (+3) as well as hit a "hole-in-one" too .... these days, i rarely get on a course, and when i do i struggle to hit below 90 ...

22.   I have had the same recurring dream ever since I was teenager .... that i am panicking becoz i have either not done my Maths homework and it's time for class or i'm about to enter an exam and i haven't done any Maths revision at all.

23.   A hybrid of Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Charlize Theron, Jessica Alba & Jessica Rabbit would be my perfect looking woman ....

24.   For me, besides the frigging Global Economic Tsunami ... 2008 was memorable for the Beijing Olympics and the amazing Bird's Nest stadium in which close to 90,000 people watched the opening and closing ceremonies for the games .... makes me shudder in remembering that the same number - 90,000 people were also killed in the Sichuan earthquake in May ..... GOD SAVE THEIR SOULS ....

25.   I bought  USD 500 of Enron stock the day before they declared Chapter 11
