KRU Studios produces movie with all-Hollywood cast

Malaysian production house, KRU Studios Sdn Bhd chalked up a milestone when they managed to sell their movie  Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa to more than 70 countries.

Now, KRU Studios is taking another giant leap. They are producing a Hollywood movie with an all-Hollywood cast. 

Titled  Vikingdom 3D (see scenes from movie), and directed by the Yusry Abdul Halim, the film began shooting Oct 15 and will wrap up on Dec 21 – with all shoots taking place in Malaysia.

Hollywood actor Dominic Purcell, who is well known for his role in the popular TV series  Prison Break, is playing the lead role as Viking warrior Elrick, who must face his violent past and lift his sword again to fight a demigod.

“I love the story and I was impressed with the set,” said Dominic. “The movie is steeped in mythology and heroic principles. It reminded of me of  Highlander and  Conan. What I have seen so far, cinematically, the movie is on par with Hollywood (productions).”

He is confident that Vikingdom will appeal to audience all over the world.
