The KIX HD channel, a hybrid of Tiger Gate Entertainment’s existing KIX and Thrill offerings, is launching on SingTel’s mio TV tomorrow.
The HD channel features high-energy series, movies, fight events and anime during the day. At night, the service features thriller, horror and suspense movies from Asia and Hollywood. KIX HD’s launch slate includes Expedition Impossible, from the producers of Survivor and The Apprentice; Ghost in the Shell, an anime series; Bully Beatdown, in which bullied victims get their revenge; and A Yaksa, a drama set in ancient Korea. Films set to air on KIX HD in its first few months include the comedy Pineapple Express, Grind, A History of Violence, Flags of our Fathers and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
This brings the total number of HD channels on mio TV to eight. Currently KIX HD is available in Singapore, with expansion to other regions on the planner.
“KIX HD is all set to pump up the adrenaline levels at mio TV,” said Goh Seow Eng, the chief of digital home at SingTel. “We are very pleased to be the first stop for this brand new channel which is tailored specifically for Asian audiences, and are certain that our thrill-seeking viewers will quickly sink their teeth into it!”
