Go to a busy park, lie on your back on the grass, fold your neck back, and see the world upside down. Seeing the world through your own eyes, but from a different perspective is awe-inspiring. You suddenly pay attention to the mechanics of walking. People bounce! They actually look like horses with really long legs. If there’s a constant flow of people walking, you will feel like you’re on a different planet. Especially if it’s nighttime. You suddenly notice things, you’ve seen before, but never had paid attention to. And you have fun while doing it. In fact, I almost couldn’t stop laughing because people galloped past me.
My shift in perspective on life happened at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, CA last week. And it wasn’t only this whole upside down people watching thing, but also my attitude toward friends. I’ve always known that I had friends. But now I know from my gut. Gut feelings are good. EndFragment
