Sometimes, music motivates us to do good things.
From the Concert for Bangladesh , to Live Aid , War Child and the re-release of "We are the World" for Haiti's tragedy , music has been used as a powerful communication medium to promote social and political awareness whilst raising significant sums of money for many worthy causes.
Music Matters delegates have also played their part, raising money for UNICEF’s Sichuan/Myanmar relief and most recently funding a music education programme for Cambodian River Kids (with the generous help of Gibson Guitars).
This year we will be presenting a series of individual case studies in a session titled ”When Music Matters” and
are actively looking at initiatives that we can profile.
This is where you can help. Do you know of any commendable ventures that you would like to see showcased in May?
