MISKEEN in ASIA April - July 07

So here is the update ... the last six months has been a very busy time for Miskeen in Asia ...

 April 2007 - MISKEEN Asia visits Headquarters in USA

                                                    I visted the US of A in

order to get up to date with the Hip Hop lifestyle (something i do often) as well as meet some of MISKEEN's VIP's. Jazz, (VP of Miskeen) arranged a jam packed week with on site visits and introductions to some of Hip Hops most influential personalities!

Here is some of what went on . . .

PRETTY RICKY ON STAGE (Late Nite Special Tour) . . .

Pretty Ricky is an R&B/Hip-Hop group made up of Diamond Blue "Baby Blue" Smith, Spectacular Blue Smith, Corey "Slick 'Em" Mathis, and Marcus Ramone "Pleasure" Cooper. Their debut album, Bluestars, was released on May 23, 2005 and features the hit U.S. top ten single, "Grind With Me." Then came their next two singles "Your Body" and "Juicy." . . . Pretty Ricky joined other commercial hip-hop acts including Bow Wow and Omarion on the Scream 4 Tour. Once again in 2006, Pretty Ricky joined the Scream 5 Tour roster along with headliners Ne-Yo and Omarion. Then they released their sophomore album Late Night Special on January 23, 2007. They also released their first single from their sophomore album Late Night Special entitled "On the Hotline". Pretty Ricky followed up their single "On the Hotline" with an actual Bluestars Hotline (786-258-6074). They also have released their second single "Push It Baby" which featured contest entrie's dances from a contest on You Tube they(Pretty Ricky) made. (source: wikipedia)

The Diplomats are an American hip hop group. They were originally signed to Roc-A-Fella Records, but now record on their own label, Diplomat Records, under several different labels, including Def Jam Recordings (Juelz Santana), Koch Entertainment (Hell Rell, Jim Jones, and J.R. Writer), Warner Bros. Records (Katt Williams), and Asylum Records (Duke, Cam'ron, Jim Jones), among others (Cleopatra, Sure Shot).

DIPSKATE - THE NUMBER ONE FREE STYLE ROLLERS IN USA - SUPPORTED BY THE DIPLOMATS! IFAT & JAZZ ON THE FAMOUS COUCH AT 106 & PARK IN CBS/BET STUDIO'S NYC . . . On weekdays and Saturdays, BET focuses mainly on urban music programming with shows like 106 & Park and Rap City, while also airing sitcoms such as The Wayans Bros., The Jamie Foxx Show, Girlfriends and The Parkers. The drama like Soul Food airs Sunday nights and the stand-up comedy program called Comic View airs throughout the week. BET has recently introduced reality programs like College Hill, collegiate sporting events, and various movies and specials. BET also airs the BET Awards Show each year. The show honors African American entertainers, athletes and actors. It is usually BET's highest rated show of the year. On a regular basis MISKEEN is asked personally by rappers, hip-hop artists or celebrities alike to create one of a kind personalized piece of clothing or graffiti art backdrops for their tours, videos, red carpet appearance etc. When fans see an artist wearing MISKEEN, they like it because these rappers come from the same place we do. Their houses and cars are unreachable to most of us but the clothing is something people can get their hands on, thus having the common ground that connects all.

The night I met MCG officially and Phat along with Ghost . . .

JULY 2007 - MISKEEN OFFICIALLY  LAUNCHES IN HONG KONG

What a build up, at this point I was buzzing non stop! I had the pleasure of inviting one of my dearest friends PRAS MICHELE from the FUGEES to come and help celebrate - he agreed as long as I became a producer for his next music video 'pop life' - done deal I said. . .

So the build up goes like this: 

Artists from our headquarters in Camden New Jersey arrive, JonJon and Donfella - same night we headed to . . .  the one the only . . . JIN tha MC! I gave JIN his shirt during his performance he stopped to get . . . givin us props :) it was great as bein a new brand in HK also more about the love and respect and support its a hard thing to do - JIN helped alot by giving us support! thanks JIN!!!

Couple days later we were at YO! Park with Gold Mountain performing for us rowling the crowd up! it was lots of fun as the artists showed their talent by gettin paint on some shirts! Also at YO! Park they painted at 30 foot wall . . . later on they asked miskeen to make extra shirts for the performing artists at the music festival. . .

What a crowd and what an amazing performance - the whole crowd went absolutely crazy for them!!!!!

And of course PRAS!!!! He performed some FUGEE originals along with Ghetto Superstar!!!! Wow . . . when this one came on everyone in the crowd went WILD!!!!!! Then at this point I was on my feet for 18 hours wearing 6 inch heals and runnin around like a headless chicken making sure everyone was alright as well as fallin down the stairs 3 times I downed 3 double vodka redbulls!!!!!!!

so back to PRAS singing superstar. . . dude!!!!! He called me on stage and it got me all gooey like . . . thing is i used to be a dancer so he wanted me to dance - the combination of all emotions and those drinks got me all nervous like . . .
