According to the Alsatian legend, the souls raining down from the sky are reincarnated as newborn babies. That's how, delivered by a stork, Mi Kwan was born in Mulhouse and spent her childhood experiencing the « joie de vivre » and the gastronomy that Alsace has to offer in its unique and wonderful ways.
Zebus and lemurs will take over from the storks as Mi Kwan will spend her adolescence on the island of Madagascar. There, she discovers poverty but also that poor people, always smiling, are so generous that they can share their only bowl of rice with a stranger.
It's in Madagascar that Mi Kwan takes her first steps on the stage with the musical “EMILIE JOLIE.” Years later, when she discovers the magic of theatre at the Avignon Theatre Festival (France) - with the comedy “BAROUFE IN CHIOGGIA” by Carlo Goldoni – she returns to Paris convinced she wants to play her whole life!
Many sides of her acting are revealed by studying with Blanche Salant (Paris) and Jack Waltzer (Paris & Los Angeles).
From adventure to adventure, she gets several roles in short films, corporate films and commercials. Her performance in the short film «SANS NICOLAS» (Missing Nicky) directed by Cedric Jouarie gets noticed in film festivals as Beloit International Film Festival (Beloit, WI, USA), Flyway Film Festival (Pepin, WI, USA) and at Cannes Film Festival's short film corner.
It's in the feature film “TOUT EST ENCORE POSSIBLE” that she draws the director Christian LARA’s attention. He casts her in the lead role in “THE LEGEND”, alongside Barry Primus (New York New York, Absence of malice, The Rose, Puzzle of a downfall child...). Shooting takes place in French Polynesia and France.
In 2012, Mi Kwan appeared on TV in an episode of "Au nom de la vérité" entitled "UN MARI IDEAL" for TF1, one of the major french television networks.
And most recently, surrounded by cicadas and lavender, Mi Kwan had the starring role in the film “SUMMER IN PROVENCE” performing with Marc Michel (The umbrellas of Cherbourg, la Ragazzia, Lola, le trou...) thus signing her third collaboration with the director Christian Lara. In this last film, she plays a Chinese girl, therefore going back to her roots.
