Maverick Irish Film-Maker George Clarke first popped onto the radar with the award winning 'Battle of the Bone', the original and still 'the greatest Irish martial arts zombie movie ever made!'
The trials and tribulations of making that film can be found on the documentary supplemental materials on the 'Battle of the Bone' DVD, or online at http://www.youtube.com/user/yellowfeverbelfast
Now for the first Yellow Fever Independent Film Festival held recently in Belfast, Clarke set himself and his team a seemingly impossible challenge to script, shoot, and edit a full length feature within 4 weeks to screen at the end of the festival..and to make things just that little bit more challenging...with a budget of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS!
The film became 'The Knackery' and we'll let the films tag line explain it all....
6 Contestants,
A Million Pounds
And a shitload of zombies!
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJVOVPwO3I0 I'll be running a full review of the film in an upcoming issue of Impact www.impactmoviemagazine.co.uk, but for now i will say one thing its as entertaining as f*ck!
And hopefully George and his team will soon get the support that will take them to the enxt level....for more on the festival log onto: http://theyfiff.ning.com/
There will be a full report on the festival in the next issue of Impact...and submissions for next years festival are already open..more info on the website...and of course any interested sponsors are more than welcome to drop me a line and i'll put them in touch with George and his team
