October 1st already? Where the hell did the year go?
Spent most of the first part of the year working on the casting with Poping Auyeung for Keanau Reeves directorial debut Man of Tai Chi, which sees Yuen Woo-ping protege Tiger Chen as the lead and Keanau as director.
While Poping handled the dramatic side of casting, i primarily handled the casting for the various fighters on the film and considering there's a hell of a lot of damn cool fights on the film, i had my work cut out for me.
We brought in some incredible fighters for the movie including Iko Uwais from The Raid: Redemptionand the fights are superb, some really crisp beautifully shot true martial arts battles that make the most of those involved and feature choreography that truely compliments the action and the participants. Was a great pleasure to be a part of the production, much love and respect to all involved.
Finished up on MOTC and jumped straight into the Asian casting for Serangoon Road, a co-production between HBO Asia, ABC Australia and Content Film and stars Don Hannay, Joan Chen, Chin Han, Pamelyn Chee, Alaric Tay, amongst many others. We're currently shooting in Batam at the new IFW studio in Indonesia.
Bunch of other stuff on the cards too, all good fun
And currently playing at Cinemas is Resident Evil: Retribution for which i cast Li Bing-bing
