You can die of encouragement in Hollywood

this was a quote my colleague mentioned to me the other day. he read it from syd field's book, but i don't quite know where the original came from. and i think most ppl who are in film know precisely what it means... (yup, u can always count on me to be the news bearer of doom and gloom). but the key is to remain optimistic, as always!

and i think this speech by Mark Gill, posted here, is a must-read (for film folks). whether u agree with him or not.
