More art inspired by the Umbrella Movement, a lot of it not by professional artists.
This is using art to express what ordinary people think, feel, and hope for. Hong Kong is not an artistic desert, the society just did nothing to foster the artistic expression of its people. From the people come the artists who are highly gifted and who go on to become professional artists. But with no encouragement and acceptance of artistic expression, the development of grassroots art and professional artists is thwarted. Hong Kong people have awakened to the power of art, be it professional of from regular, mostly untrained, people. Let us hope that this continues.
