where does that lonely path lead uncoiling like a snake?
those bright leaves setting the trees ablaze will disappear one blustery night when lady moon runs her fingers through her hair
rock and water the rigid and the malleable
but rock yields to water’s run, the icy glacier grinds down intractable stone leaving only finest sand in its wake slowly steadily imperceptibly implacably the roof of the world will one day be a level plain; water has all the time in the world, its journey never ends
the forest rushes down the mountain side to greet its old friend hurrying past, but the river never wavers in its mad rush— singing to itself of ancient journeys and the little bird that splashed on its bank a moment ago
