An old boyfriend from college sent me this picture in the mail the other day. How strange it has been that in the past few months all of these people that I haven't had any contact with for decades are showing up in my life again, even though not a one of them even lives within several hundred miles of me.
I don't remember when this picture was taken (I swear my memory has an many holes in it these days as a cheese grater) but, from the setting, the costume and my age when the picture was taken, I suspect it was for a New Year's Eve costume party circa 1977 or 1978. I don't remember the picture being taken, but I do remember the skirt, blouse, belt and shoes as things from my closet in those days. The purse was borrowed. I honestly don't remember anything about that amazing hat, the thing that really cliches the outfit. When I first saw the picture, I felt like I was looking at an audition pic for the first season of Mad Men, which is set in 1960.
