Tino di Geraldo is a Spanish producer, percussionist, drummer, composer and general wild man. This poem was inspired by some of the tracks on his latest album, Tino. Sadly, the album is now out of print, but I am the happy owner of one of the few copies that made it to the US.
flamenco funk fuck
my man Tino
escuchando a su música
funky funk
heavy speed metal
jazz flamenco rap
breaking down the doors
blank walls crying for slash graffiti
dark light
stabbing into a drug swirled night
beats throbbing in my veins
syncopated trance
Gnawa initiation
Gypsy soul
high on gaitas de Asturias
tabla song
electronic flamenco break
dance
hash fueled
half-dreams
swirl with night’s color
cover my eyes
fill my ears
embrace me all ashiver
calling out
side
the small, hot room
too long too many
afraid to venture out
not you
high on music beyond design
groaning
fucking a lover
whose face you
can never see
