I closed my eyes and listened. The most beautiful notes to me,are the gaps of silences between music. I am familiar with silence. Once I was almost mistaken to be autistic. And the clearest,purest note to me is heard right after. And that is why music is a language.

In fact, there is no true silence. The universe is filled with the residual sound of the big bang. When all of other sound is stripped away, the sound of the big bang remains as this all-pervasive whooshing sound. I heard it on a BBC science report on the radio recently. I think it is (probably) the same sound that mystics describe as the sound of the universe and that they use various techniques to be able to access. If there was true silence, then there would be no life, no creation and no universe.
